Custom means the price is built around your choices, not a catalogue markup. Most of our clients land between $3,000 and $10,000 CAD, with the flexibility to go higher for larger stones or more intricate settings. The goal of this guide is to show you exactly what moves that number, so you're never guessing.
The center stone is usually 50–70% of the budget
Whether you choose a natural diamond, a lab-grown diamond, or a colored gemstone, the center stone typically drives the largest share of your budget. Lab-grown diamonds cost 60–80% less than natural diamonds of equivalent size and quality — a popular way to maximize carat weight without expanding budget.
Metal choice: a meaningful but smaller factor
Platinum costs roughly 30–40% more than 18K white gold due to material cost and density, but both are excellent, durable choices. Yellow and rose gold fall in a similar range to white gold. Metal is rarely the deciding factor in total cost — the stone almost always is.
Setting complexity
A clean solitaire is the most economical setting style. Pavé bands, halos, and hand-engraved details add labor time and therefore cost — but often less than clients expect, since it's skilled hand work, not exotic material.
