Why the solitaire never goes out of style
A solitaire setting holds one diamond and nothing else — no halo, no pavé, no distraction. That simplicity is exactly why it has remained the most requested engagement ring style for over a century: it puts the stone itself, not the setting, at the center of attention.
Prong count changes the look more than you'd think
A 4-prong setting shows more of the diamond and creates a slightly more modern, angular silhouette. A 6-prong setting offers more security for the stone and a rounder, more classic look. Both hold a diamond safely — the choice is purely aesthetic, and worth seeing rendered in CAD before deciding.
Your stone quality matters more here
Without a halo or pavé band to add sparkle or visually boost size, a solitaire puts the diamond's own cut, clarity, and color entirely on display. We generally recommend prioritizing cut quality above all else for a solitaire — an excellent cut will outshine a larger, poorly cut stone every time.
